For over 30 years, Riding Unlimited has been dedicated to Turning Disabilities Into Possibilities by helping individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities through the power of the horse.

Riding Unlimited is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, serving the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex since 1990. Located on a serene 49-acre facility in Ponder, Texas, our program uses therapeutic horsemanship to help individuals of all ages build strength, coordination, social skills, and self-esteem. Our therapy horses and our team of volunteers makes life-changing experiences possible for our riders.

Therapeutic Benefits

Therapeutic horsemanship is more than just riding—it provides life-altering benefits. Riders improve their muscle tone, balance, coordination, motor skills, and emotional well-being. Through relay races, obstacle courses, and interactive exercises, participants experience increased self-confidence, memory enhancement, and social connection.

Our History

Riding Unlimited began in 1990 at a leased facility with six borrowed horses and 70 volunteers. In 1997, we moved to our 49-acre ranch to expand our reach. Today, we continue to grow, with programs tailored to veterans, first responders, children, and adults with various physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.

Why Horses?

“In riding a horse, we borrow freedom.”

Every week, our riders experience freedom from their walkers and wheelchairs. The unique movement of the horse mimics human walking, providing benefits that are hard to replicate in a clinical setting. Improved mobility, muscle strength, and emotional well-being are just a few ways horses change lives.
