We’re glad you’re here!

Riding Unlimited runs on volunteers and we couldn’t do it without you!

Our Volunteer Opportunities!

No horse experience is required! We have plenty of activities for people who have never interacted with a horse in their life!

Working with Riders

Our riders rely on the safety and training of our volunteers so they can focus on their personal growth.

Sidewalker

Working directly with a rider is extremely rewarding and the primary responsibility of a sidewalker is to maintain constant safety awareness, while providing physical and motivational support to the rider.

Qualifications

Minimum age is 14. Be able to walk and jog for short periods of time while the horse is trotting. Attend Volunteer Training and be committed to your weekly class assignment throughout the session.

Horse Handler

The horse handler is directly responsible for the horse before, during and after each lesson. It is the leader who must help in guiding, stopping and starting without making the rider feel that he or she is simply a passenger.

Qualifications

Minimum age is 14. Must have experience with horses and complete Handler Certification. Must attend hands-on training and be responsible for continued training as needed. Should be able to walk at a fast pace and jog intermittently during the lesson.

Working with Horses

We pride ourselves in keeping our herd happy and healthy. It’s a lot of work! We’re always looking for individuals who want to care for these large, nice animals and join the RU team! Activities include:

Grooming Horses

Schooling Horses

Feeding and Tending to Horses

Working with a Non-Profit

Non-profits rely on their community to keep the program running and often operate like a small business. If community engagement or business interest you, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities:

Fundraising and Community Engagement

Branding and Advertising

Website and Digital Presence

Group Opportunities

Does your business, church, club or school have a yearly Community Volunteer day? We have a unique Group Volunteer Experience to offer at Riding Unlimited in Ponder, Texas, just North of DFW. Riding Unlimited can facilitate groups up to 150 volunteers with projects from renovation, painting, landscaping, fundraising and events. We would like to host your Volunteer Group!

Thank you so much!
